I am a creative scientist and freelance writer and science communicator with over 12 years of professional experience in science. My expertise is in immunology and infectious diseases, including molecular and cell biology, cell signalling and drug development. My skills are based on scientific curation, information gathering, writing, editing and proofreading a wide range of communication materials including feature articles, website content, reports, newsletters, media content and fact sheets. My strengths include infectious disease pathophysiology, molecular biology approaches, high content and high throughput screening, experimental design, scientific methodology, in vivo studies and cell-based approaches. I also have creative thinking in solving scientific problems, motivation and science-based solutions. During my scientific career I have worked for a wide range of clients including biotech companies, healthcare companies, science companies and as a volunteer for a non-governmental agencie. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC) studying primary immunodeficiencies using direct cell reprogramming to investigate dendritic cell deficiency.
