Ediclê de Souza Fernandes Duarte

Researcher at the Institute of Earth Sciences - ICT (Évora Campus), Instituto de Investigação e Formação Avançada (IIFA), University of Évora, Portugal. I am an expert in atmospheric chemistry with focus on air quality, urban traffic and fire emissions, numerical model development. I work in an international, dynamic and challenging environment. I have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Master's degree and Ph.D. in Climate Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. My research focuses on the impacts of air pollution and extreme events in human health as well as air quality modelling and data assimilation with special emphasis on the metropolitan areas. I work with the Weather Research and Forecasting with Chemistry (WRF-Chem) and the EURopean Air Chemical-atmospheric Pollution Dispersion/Inverse Model (EURAD-IM) to address issues of air pollution, anthropocentric and fire emissions and extreme events. I have experience with chemical transport models, meteorological models (WRF), single particle Lagrangian integrated trajectory model (HYSPLIT), experimental campaigns using Lidar, low and high volume aerosol samplers. Fluent in Portuguese and English. Programming experience in Fortran, R and Python.
