I am an ambitious and dedicated researcher with a BSc degree in Forensic Laboratory Sciences from the Instituto Universitário de Ciências da Saúde (CESPU-IUCS) and an MSc degree in Analytical, Clinical, and Forensic Toxicology from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP). I graduated in 2022, achieving a score of 19 out of 20 in my MSc dissertation entitled "Combination effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) ubiquitous in the environment - A metabolomics approach”. As part of my master's seminar, I published a review article focusing on the metabolomics perspectives regarding the ecotoxicological risks associated with PAHs. The article, where I’m the first author, was published in the Environmental Research (Elsevier, IF=8.3, Q1), under the DOI 10.1016/j.envres.2024.118394. As a part of my academic journey, I have had the opportunity to work in two research projects funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). From 2019 to 2022, I carried out my BSc and MSc dissertations within the project entitled “PAHMIX – Mixtures of Environmental Carcinogens: a molecular approach to improve environmental risk assessment strategies” (PTDC/CTA-AMB/29173/2017). In this project, I evaluated the cytotoxicity and metabolism of primary rat hepatocytes and sea bass hepatocytes exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). In 2022, I also participated as a Research Fellow in the FCT project entitled “Inflammation and oxidative stress mediators as predictors of oocyte quality and pregnancy outcomes in assisted reproduction: from biochemistry to clinic” (PTDC/MEC-OUT/28931/2017). In this project, I carried out an untargeted metabolomics approach to detect metabolic changes in the follicular fluid of obese and non-obese women undergoing in vitro fertilisation. My work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as I have presented the results of my BSc and MSc dissertations at prestigious national and international conferences (4 oral and 4 poster communications), including the 51st Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Pharmacology and the 39th Meeting of the Clinical Pharmacology, the 2022 APCF-TOXRUN –International Congress, and the IJUP’22 – 15th Young Research Meeting at the University of Porto. Two conference abstracts have been published in national journals (DOI: 10.51126/revsalus.v4iSup.246, DOI: 10.1097/j.pbj.0000000000000100). I am currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at CESPU-IUCS, where I have been awarded a research grant. Over the past year, I have successfully completed all the required courses and earned a total of 16/20. Overall, my academic achievements and research experience have provided me with a strong set of analytical, critical thinking and communication skills.
