Abilio Jose Fraga do Nascimento Sobral. Completed the BSc in Chemistry in 1986 at Universidade de Coimbra and the MSc in Chemistry in 1992, the PhD in Organic Chemistry in 1999 and the Agregação in Organic Chemistry in 2007. He is the coordinator of a research group (post-doc fellows, PhD and MSc students) in Organic Synthesis and Mass Spectrometry. He is Auxiliary Researcher of the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidade de Coimbra. His teaching activity included BSc, MSc and PhD classes for more than 25 years, being the coordinator of the Master Classes of Energy and Energetic Option of the MSc in Advanced Chemistry. His research work is developed inside the Centro de Química de Coimbra. Published more than 150 articles in international journals with peer-review. Has 1 book and 7 book chapters. Supervised 6 Post-doc researchers, 8 PhD thesis and 20 MSc dissertations. Received 3 international scientific awards for excellence in innovation (Innocentive, USA). Had several financed scientific projects as PI and co-PI. Works in the area of Chemical Sciences with an emphasis on Organic Chemistry and Organic Synthesis applied to Medicinal Chemistry, New Materials, Energy and Environmental Chemistry.
