Inês Assunção Gamelas

Inês Gamelas graduated in 2008 in Languages, Literatures and Cultures (English and German Studies) at the University of Aveiro and two years later she successfully completed her Master in Languages, Literatures and Cultures in the field of German Studies. In 2020, she concluded with the highest mark (summa cum laude) her PhD within the framework of a joint doctoral supervision cotutelle agreement established by the University of Aveiro and the Justus Liebig University Giessen. The topic of her thesis was: "1968 in Western European literature: depictions of the generational conflicts and of the academic upheaval in novels from 1968 to 1979". The German version of the thesis was published in 2021 by Narr Francke Attempto. From 2020 to 2022, she worked as a freelance lecturer in the University of Augsburg and in the Justus Liebig University Giessen, giving seminars on Portuguese and Comparative Literature. From 2021 to August 2024, she was lecturer within the project Network for Impactful Digital International Teaching Skills (NIDIT), a joint project of the Justus Liebig University Giessen, the University of Marburg and the University of Applied Sciences Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen. She was part of the team responsible for the Tutor’s Qualification and International Teaching Training. Inês Gamelas is currently Assistant Professor [Professora Auxiliar] in the Languages and Cultures Department at the University of Aveiro, in the research area of German Literary Studies. Furthermore, she is a researcher member of the Centre for Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (CLLC), based at the Department of Languages and Cultures of the University of Aveiro.
