I graduated in Biology (University of Aveiro, 2011). Then, I completed a post-graduate course in Geographical Information Systems and Environmental Planning (University of Porto, 2012) and a MSc in Applied Ecology (University of Aveiro, 2013), where I focused on the population size estimation and spatial ecology of wild ungulates. I was awarded with a merit-based grant by the University of Aveiro and with a joint PhD grant from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (University of Aveiro, Autonomous University of Barcelona and Zoological Society of London, 2014-2019). Over my research career, I have expanded my interests to invasive species, landscape genetics, wildlife infectious diseases and human perceptions of natural assets. My research is a blend of Applied Ecology, Geographical Information Systems and Statistics. I became an invited Assistant Professor at University of Porto, where I taught GIS, Programming and Applied Statistics (2013/2014 and 2019) and, in 2020, I taught at University of Aveiro as an invited Assistant Professor. I also teach at University of Lúrio (Mozambique, 2019) and I have been invited as a speaker at several workshops on methods applied to the study of wild species. Currently, I am Junior Researcher at University of Aveiro, financed by an individual contract (CEECIND/01428/2018) under the Scientific Employment Stimulus from FCT.
