Maryam Bagheri, a dual citizen of Portugal and Iran, served as a researcher at CBMA, University of Minho, Portugal, where her research has focused primarily on biotechnology and microbiology. She also was a lecturer in two Iranian universities. Maryam has a particular interest in safe agriculture and food and has developed several safe post-harvest treatments for persimmons and peaches. During her master program, she successfully used molecular markers in order to identify self-incompatibilities in some Iranian pear cultivars. Maryam's works are published in 4 international journals as well as in one national journal, and have been presented in a couple of congresses / conferences. She serves as a reviewer to journals. Maryam's current scientific interest is legumes and specifically pea.
