Bruna Silva

Bruna Silva concluded recently her master's degree in Applied Biology at University of Aveiro (UA, Portugal), and has a bachelor's degree in Biology and Geology (2020) by UA. After the conclusion of her master's, she was selected for a master research grant by the FCT funded project LED (aims to understand how light pollution can mediate the ecological effects of antineoplastic drugs in urban aquatic ecosystems) at CESAM - Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (2023). In 2024, Bruna was selected for a research grant in the European project - PARC (Partnership for the assessment of risks from chemicals) to evaluate bisphenol A and its alternatives toxicity in Girardia tigrina. She is the (co) author of two scientific articles, five poster presentations, and three oral presentations, being the lead presenter of one of them. In 2022, Bruna was part of the supporting staff at SIBECOL-AIL meeting (Aveiro, Portugal). Participated in the Biology and Geology Student Council. At the moment, her main topics of research focus on aquatic ecology and ecotoxicology, studying pollutant effects (light pollution, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals).
