DORA AGAPITO holds a PhD in Tourism (2013), an MSc in Marketing (2010) and a BSc in Communication Sciences (2007), University of the Algarve (UAlg), Portugal. She developed her Post-Doctoral Studies in Consumer Psychology (2018) at the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto. Currently, she is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of the Algarve. She is a member of the Direction Board of the international Master in Tourism Organizations Management and the Master in Marketing Management at this institution. Agapito is an integrated member of CinTurs - Research Centre for Tourism, Sustainability and Well-being, UAlg. Previously, she was Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Events Management at the University of Lincoln (2017-2020), United Kingdom (UK). She was awarded the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), UK. She develops activities as a reviewer and external advisor. The researcher has published in top scientific journals, such as Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Destination Marketing and Management, and European Planning Studies. She is the coordinator of courses in consumer behaviour in the masters of Tourism Organizations Management; Tourism Economics and Regional Development; and Marketing Management. She also teaches in the PhD programme in Tourism and the PhD programme in Economy and Management Sciences (Faculty of Economics, University of Algarve). 25 peer-reviewed journal articles (including Scopus, ISI Web of Science, ABS list), 7 book chapters, 2 books, encyclopaedia entries, as well as conference proceedings and book reviews have been published. She participated in multiple research and consultancy projects, and was invited as a keynote speaker in several scientific events (Hong Kong, Spain and Portugal). Currently, the researcher participates in the project "Investigating the visitor experience with hearing-impaired in Hong Kong Wetland Park as a multi-sensory functional landscape" [RGC, Ref No. 14607919], promoted by the Department of Geography and Resource Management, Chinese University of Hong Kong (Funder: University Grants Committee of Hong Kong). Additionally, she presented 20 communications in conferences, and integrated the scientific and organising committees of international scientific events. Currently, she is a member of the editorial board of the peer-reviewed Journal of Destination Marketing and Management, indexed in Scopus (Q1). She was awarded a merit scholarship (2004/2005), a research scholarship (2010), two prizes in international conferences (2014, 2020). Her main research areas are: Sensory Consumer Experience; Tourist Experience Design; Responsible Tourism Management; Destination Marketing Management; Consumer Behaviour; and Social Marketing.
