WORK EXPERIENCE Tito Trindade is Full Professor in the Chemistry Department of the University of Aveiro (Portugal) and researcher in the CICECO- Aveiro Materials Institute where he has coordinated research line 1: Nano- and Micro-Structured Materials for Information and Communication Technology, until 2015. Tito Trindade has been appointed for several working groups and positions related to the implementation of Nanotechnology activities which include National Contact Point for the FP6 program and first Director of the Doctoral Program in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology of the University of Aveiro, until 2016. Previously, he was appointed to academic management duties such as Head of Department Deputy (1997-1999), Scientific Coordinator (2007-2009) and Director (2015-2019) of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Aveiro. He was elected President of the Inorganic Chemistry Division of the Portuguese Chemical Society for the period 2007-2009. Tito Trindade has been committed to diverse pedagogical activities namely by lecturing diverse undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Inorganic Chemistry, Nanochemistry, Materials Chemistry, Inorganic Pigments and General Chemistry. He has been appointed member of Materials Science, Nanotechnology and Health Sciences research assessment panels for FCT grants and was also invited to evaluate international projects. As part of his academic activities he has been involved in communicating Chemistry for non-specialized audiences, in particular issues related to Nanotechnology. He is a member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry and of the journal Nanomaterials. SCIENTIFIC TRACK Tito Trindade is (co)author of about 320 scientific publications (SCOPUS: over 11230 citations; h-index 54; average citations 35), 16 book chapters and 3 patents, including a family of international patents. He co-edited the book 'Nanocomposite Particles for Bioapplications-Materials and Biointerfaces' (Pan Stanford, 2011) and is co-author of the book 'Surface Chemistry of Colloidal Nanocrystals' (Royal Society of Chemistry, 2021). He has given several invited talks and presented more than 300 communications (posters/oral) at conferences. He (co)supervised 15 post-docs, 23 Ph.D. students and several master students. He participated in about 30 scientific projects (5 international). SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS Following his PhD at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London (1996), he returned to the University of Aveiro where he has implemented a pioneer research line with a special focus on the synthesis, characterization, surface modification and impact of nanoparticles. Since then, much of the work of Tito Trindade has been in developing new routes of synthesis, surface modification, impact and properties of diverse inorganic materials, which include semiconductors, glasses, metals and metal oxides. His research group (nanoLAB) has developed a special expertise on the use of inorganic nanoparticles, in order to produce colloids and composite materials with potential interest for bio-applications, environmental remediation processes and energy. Other research interests include inorganic-organic hybrid materials and inorganic pigments.

The synthesis and characterisation of some lead(II) dithiocarbamato complexes Pb(S2CNRR¾)2 is reported. These compounds were used as single molecule precursors to produce nanocrystalline PbS by their thermolysis in trioctylphosphine oxide.
