Behrouz Gholamahmadi is a PhD student in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, and a member of the Center for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) & Earth Surface Processes Team at the Department of Environment and Planning, University of Aveiro (UA) from September 2018. He did his Bachelor and Master in Agricultural Engineering at the Islamic Azad University of Iran. His research focus in the bachelor period was soil erosion modelling in the catchment area. And in the master period, seepage control techniques in the earth dam. He has the experience of scientific and technical collaboration with the Soil Conservation and Watershed Management Research Institute, and the National Agricultural Organization on the soil and water conservation projects located in arid and semi-arid eastern Iran regions. He also was a tutor at the Islamic Azad University of Iran in 2010 for a specialized software course. He presented two conference papers related to soil mechanics and geotechnics at Iranian national civil engineering conferences as the first author. Also, He has obtained two awards from the Municipality of Mashhad, Iran for consulting of a national project related to urban water infrastructures development (DMWI project) in 2013, and 2014. He recognized as a qualified consultant engineer/Grade 2, by the Agricultural and Natural Resources Engineering Organisation of Iran (IAEO). During his research in Portugal, he developed his research skill and knowledge on (i) assess of biochar effects on soil erosion with the aim to mitigate climate change, and combat desertification under the scope of a research grant by CESAM laboratory(ii) post-fire hydrological events and soil erosion, and Integrated management in high-risk natural areas under the scope of EPyRIS project research grant(iii) as a research fellow to quantifying carbon budget and fluxes after the wildfire under the scope of FIRE-C-BUDs project. Furthermore, collaboration with LIFE REFOREST and FIREMIX, EU projects and, presenting one oral and two poster communication as a co-author in EGU General Assembly 2020 and SETAC Europe 30th Annual Meeting, and one technical report as an author, were his scientific output during his PhD studies in Portugal.
