ACADEMIC BACKGROUND: I obtained my BSc. in Chemistry at the Universidad de Sevilla in 2001. By October 2003, I started a PhD funded by an EPSRC Grant in the development of recoupling methods in Solid-State NMR for biomolecules in the group of Malcolm H. Levitt (University of Southampton). RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: In November 2007, I joined the group of Ulrich Günther (University of Birmingham) as post-doc, where I entered in contact for the first time with the Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) technique. In 2010, I joined the Biomolecular NMR Laboratory of Miquel Pons (IRB-Barcelona and the Universitat de Barcelona) after obtaining the ¿Beatriu de Pinós¿ and ¿Juan de La Cierva¿ grants. In this lab, I started building my network of collaborators and I strenghten further my knowledge in DNP and protein-ligand interactions. From 2015-2018, I enjoyed a Labex ARCANE Postdoctoral Fellowship to work in the laboratory of Gaël de Paëpe and Sabine Hediger (CEA-Grenoble and Université Grenoble-Alpes). This position allowed me to complete my knowledge of the DNP technique in all aspects. The main research line was the study of carbohydrate-protein interaction by Magic-Angle-Spinning DNP (MAS-DNP) solid-state NMR in lectins. Furthermore, I complete my list of collaborators for future works. In 2019, I joined the CICECO-Universidade de Aveiro to work in the study with the team of Luis Mafra. The main lines of research in which I am involved: -Study of porous materials for CO2 capture for environmental applications by ssNMR/MAS-DNP. -Valorization of seafood shell waste for CO2 adsorption. -Study interaction interfaces in clathrin-mediated endocytosis using complementary characterization techniques. -Brewer¿s Spent Yeast Glucan Structural Diversity. Currently, funded under the umbrella of an ERC consolidator grant (PI Luís Mafra). Part of the NMR team of University of Aveiro in the PANACEA project. -Supervision/co-supervision/mentoring over my last 5 years: 1 PhD student, 1 postdoc, 2 MSc students (I have retained these students as PhDs in our group) and 5 BSc student. -Scientific production in the last 5 years: 10 research articles (201 citations/Q1 journals), 7 talks and 2 poster in international conferences and meetings. -Awards: Winner of the Blue Bio Value Ideation 2021 in Porto.

The proposed project ("A filter for biogas upgrading from crustaceous shell waste") was selected as one of the winner. The main goal is to facilitate the development of marine bio based ideas and projects, and to bridge the gap between academic research and the market. The Ideation also aims to be an introduction to Blue Bio Value Acceleration, currently entering its 4th edition, which brings startups and their sustainable solutions to the market.
