Doutorada em Psicologia pelo Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, tem desenvolvido estudos na área da deficiência e do bem-estar. Nomeadamente, tem estudado a influência de fatores macrossociais (igualdade, políticas públicas) e intergrupais (capacitismo, identidade, contacto intergrupal) na saúde e bem-estar das pessoas com deficiência. Mais recentemente, tem colaborado em projetos sobre a participação cívica e o bem-estar, inclusive sobre a saúde mental dos estudantes do ensino superior em Portugal.
