It belongs to the Portuguese National Network of Research Infrastructures of Strategic Interest and it is the national node of the European Infrastructure CLARIN ERIC. * * I am the SCIENTIFIC DIRECTOR of a R&D Unit of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), the NLX Natural Language and Speech Group, devoted to research on Artificial Intelligence, in the sub-area of Natural Language Processing, with special focus on the Portuguese language. * * I was the RESPONSIBLE INVESTIGATOR of activities in 31 projects with an accumulated funding of 11.5 Million euros since 2001 (in open competitive calls), among which there are 13 projects of which I was the PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR, including 2 European projects in multi-partner consortia, 2 projects of international exchange. * * I am the AUTHOR, in co-authorship, of 146 peer-reviewed publications, which include, in the last 10 years, 26 publications of Type A, the highest category in the ranking of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. * * I am the DEVELOPER, in co-authorship, of 30 high reliability, labeled data sets, built by double annotation followed by adjudication, when appropriate. These data sets include the largest treebanks for training and evaluating syntactic and semantic analysis tools for Portuguese. * * I was or I am (co-)SUPERVISOR 29 post-graduation students, including 16 master students, 9 doctoral students and 4 post-doc collaborators. * * I was a TEACHER of some 6 000 students in 23 different curricular units in 24 years, which represents the preparation of almost one different unit each year on average. Through the years, my students have scored my teaching at 17.4 (0-20) on average. * * I am the PRESIDENT (2018-22), elected by its Board, of ELRA European Language Resources Association, the largest scientific association for language technology in Europe, with headquarters in Paris. * * I was the CHAIR of 17 Program Committees (of which 14 international conferences) and of 18 Organizing Committees (of which 13 international). I was a MEMBER of 176 Program Committees (of which 165 international), and of the Editorial Board of 6 journals. * * I am a CONSULTANT committed to the technological preparation of the Portuguese language for the digital age, being the first co-author of the White Paper on Portuguese Language in the Digital Age, which was presented at a parliamentary hearing in the National Parliament among several other initiatives with decision makers. * * I was an EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of the Mind-Brain College of the University of Lisbon (2014-16), of which I was a founding member in 2014. * * I am the COORDINATOR of the inter-faculty (Letters, Medicine, Psychology and Sciences) Doctoral and Master programs in Cognitive Science of the University of Lisbon, since in 2008. * * I am a COUNSELOR at the School Council of FCUL, the top supervision body responsible for the election of the Director (2017-21). I was VICE_PRESIDENT of the Department of Informatics (2009-12. * * I am an ACADEMIC who is active in all dimensions of my profession and I have received the top score, of Excellent, in the successive regular career assessments through the last 12 years, since these assessments started at the Faculty of Sciences in 2004, where I am an Associate Professor with Habilitation.
