PhD in Biology (Specialization in Microbiology) by the University of Aveiro in 2014 and Master in Microbiology in 2008 also by the University of Aveiro. Between 2015-2018, she has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory for Molecular Studies and Marine Environments (LEMAM), at the Center for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) at the University of Aveiro. Actually she is a Doctor research at the CESAM and Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Aveiro. As a researcher, she acquired knowledge and skills in areas such as environmental and molecular microbiology, environmental biotechnology and chemistry. Currently, her research interests are developing new methodologies and strategies for the research of new compounds (eg antibiotics) into microbial symbionts associated with marine sponges and to achieve relevant scientific results in the fields of global climate change and sustainable development for use of marine resources.
