I am a dynamic professional with a diverse background in Engineering Physics, Robotics, and Digital Systems. My journey in the professional world has been marked by a series of enriching experiences that have shaped my skills and perspectives. I commenced my career with a curricular internship at the Institute of Physics for Advanced Materials, Nanotechnology, and Photonics (IFIMUP-IN/inanoEnergy) in Porto, Portugal. During this period (June 2016 – December 2017), I delved into the challenges of triboelectric self-powered sensors, gaining valuable insights into cleanroom practices and materials engineering. The internship laid a solid foundation for my subsequent endeavors, providing a unique blend of theoretical and hands-on experience. My role as an Engineer I at Ground Drone Ltd./MOV.AI in Lisbon, Portugal (June 2018 – November 2018), was pivotal in contributing to the development of software for mobile robots in the manufacturing industry. Tackling complex challenges, I played a key role in advancing the field of robotic automation. The subsequent phase of my career led me to the Intelligent and Digital Systems Unit at ISQ in Porto, Portugal (2018 – 2020), where I assumed the position of a Project Leader. Here, I confronted challenges associated with entrepreneurial activity, energy utilization, resource management, and technology adoption in various projects. Active involvement in publicizing projects, drafting proposals, and bridging the gap between academia and industry showcased my commitment to driving impactful change. Currently, as a Project Leader at the Advanced Production and Intelligent Systems Associated Laboratory (ARISE AL) in Porto, Portugal (2020 – Current), I lead a team in the Produtech 4&SC project, focusing on advancing digital manufacturing solutions. My responsibilities extend to defining decentralized architectures and information models for edge layers, as well as intelligent control of edge layers. Parallel to my professional journey, I am pursuing a Doctoral Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (2020 – Current). My research, centered around Edge Computing for Digital Twin Simulation, aligns with industry trends, promising transformative solutions for enhanced industrial efficiency and sustainability. In addition to my academic pursuits, I had the privilege of participating in the EIT Manufacturing Doctoral School’s program on ”Data-Driven Smart Manufacturing and Innovation” in 2020, which significantly contributed to my development as a leader in manufacturing innovation. My integrated master’s in Physical Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto (2012 – 2018), provided me with a comprehensive education, blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. This program equipped me with the skills and mindset necessary for success in industries such as energy, telecommunications, aerospace, and materials science. Driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to addressing real-world challenges, I am dedicated to contributing to the intersection of technology and industry. My unique blend of academic rigor, hands-on experience, and a forward-thinking approach positions me as a valuable asset in the pursuit of cutting-edge solutions and advancements.
