Rui Manuel Ribeiro Castro Mendes collaborated with James Kennedy, the creator of the Particle Swarm Optmization (PSO) algorithm during his PhD. He has more than 6,900 citations of his work with two articles with over 2,000 citations each in the field of PSO. His research interests include Evolutionary Computation, Soft Computing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
