Pharmacy graduate from Universidad de Sevilla (US) in 2017, followed by Master's in Toxicology and Risk Assessment at the Universidad de Valencia in 2018-19. Joined the CTS-358 group at USE in 2016, starting in 2017 my PhD. In March 2021, I defended a "Cum Laude" doctoral thesis obtained Extraordinary PhD Award with International Mention after a 3-month (1/20-4/20) predoctoral stay at the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom, 5th in the world in 2021 and 2022 QS World Rankings for pharmacy and pharmacology and 4th in the UK for research quality 2021 Research Excellence Framework) financed by Erasmus grant + (US) resulting in 2 papers published, and learning techniques that were later implemented in CTS358 group. Then, I was awarded with postdoctoral Margarita Salas 2022 grant (competitive process) (id for US: 22281) through a competitive process, leading my investigation as Principal Investigator (IP) to the Centro Interdisciplinar de Investigação Marinha e Ambiental (CIIMAR) in Portugal for 4 months (9/22-1/22). Since January 2023, I hold a postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva 2021 (competitive process) contract linked to NEXTGENERATIONEU funding at the Centro de Edafología y Biología Aplicada del Segura, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones científicas (CEBAS-CSIC) with the project “Metabolomics as a tool to study winery by-products in pursuit of new bioactive compounds for human health” (FJC2021-046684-I) as IP. In November 2024, I have transitioned to a new role at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma, Italy, within the Food Ingredients and Packaging Unit, Risk Assessment Production Department. In total, 16 JCR-indexed published articles, with 5 in the top decile, 8 as the first author, and 2 non-indexed. One of them was awarded with the third prize for Scientific Publication at USE in 2018-2019. New articles under revision (3) or in preparation (4). The articles are focused on different areas, mainly in food safety, such as the toxicological profile in vitro and in vivo of stilbene extracts as substitutes of sulfur in wines, novel ingredients derived from by-products for the development of new foods, innovative applications of underutilized horticultural products, cyanotoxins, essential oil components as additives in animal nutrition, graphene derivates as potential food contact materials and the development of novel biopesticides to fight Xylella fastidiosa, and the development of novel, healthy, and functional plant-based foods enriched with bioactive compounds. I have been IP of 2 projects, participated in the work team and collaborated in 12 projects (in 3 of them I was also hired as a research assistant), funded by various national and international entities. More than 55 contributions (43 posters and 17 oral presentations (as speaker in 8 of them, and 3 were invited talks) have been presented in national (12) /international (21) congresses. I have been part of the organizing committee of 9 conferences and meetings, 3 of them international. My teaching activity was carried out at USE in different areas of knowledge (toxicology, laboratory practices, pharmacology, and pharmacotherapy), with a total of 270.5h. Moreover, I have mentored a final degree project and supervised practicum experiences (224h). I hold accreditations for 'profesor contratado doctor,' 'profesor ayudante doctor,' and 'profesor de universidad privada' by ANECA. Regarding the participation in scientific evaluation committees, I have served as reviewer for the National Science Centre in Poland and for the 2024 grants program for predoctoral researchers at the Agència Valenciana d’Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP), Spain. I contribute as a reviewer in journals (Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety (Q1 D1), Science of the Total Environment (Q1 D1), Toxins (Q1), International Journal of Molecular Sciences (Q1) and Toxics (Q1)) and I am member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Xenobiotics (Q1 D1) (JCR, 2023).
