Marguerita E. Rosa is currently a Chemical Engineering PhD student at the Process and Product Applied Thermodynamics (PATh) research group included in CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, Portugal. Her present research activities are the concentration of lung cancer biomarkers in human serum through the use of a three-phase partitioning approach. She completed her master’s degree in industrial and environmental biotechnology in 2017 when she worked with IgY antibodies produced specifically with an antimicrobial effect against a gram-negative bacteria. Considering her bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, she completed it in 2015, working with a yeast aiming the production of bioethanol. Between the master’s degree and the PhD one, she challenged herself in the company world, doing an internship in a biotechnology company for 3 months. After that, she then returned to the academy doing a research fellowship that would allow her to improve her skills and further apply to the 4 years PhD scholarship. During all these years of academic formation, she participated in several conferences and workshop presenting her work. Moreover, she helped to organize some other events for the academic audience. Besides all the professional skills, Marguerita is a science and cosmetology enthusiast, music and nature lover, good communicator, committed and willing to work anytime and almost anywhere. Since the early years, she is a scout and participated in several activities for the benefit of society and the environment.
