Ana Carvalho is an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering and Management at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and the Principal Investigator of SUSTAINS area at the Center for Management Studies at IST. Her research interests are related to sustainability, specifically operations management and sustainable supply chains applying Life Cycle methodologies where environmental and social aspects have been her main focus. She has published more than 50 articles in international journals and annals indexed in the Web of Knowledge. In addition, she has received several national and international awards in pedagogical and scientific activities (e.g., Sustainable Engineering Forum Student Paper Award - AIChE, Green Project Awards). She has substantial experience in supervising PhD and Master students.
