Liliana Raquel Coelho Sousa

Liliana has a BSc in Bioengineering (2016) from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and an MSc degree in Biotechnology (2019) from the University of Aveiro. Her master's thesis was based on 3D bioprinting for the bioengineering of hybrid structures for the regeneration of human tissues. She also completed the first year in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics (MSc) at the University of Porto. Since October 2021, she has developed her research work under the project "B2Solutions – Biobased and Biodegradable Composites" (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-048505), where she is responsible for developing biocomposite materials based on biobased polymers adapted for injection moulding processes, for semi-rigid and rigid applications for the automotive sector Thanks to its research, she has 2 papers in indexed specialized journals. She participated in 3 oral and 3 poster communications. She was distinguished with the “Best Pitch Presentation” award at the "3rd Sustainable and Smart Advanced Manufacturing Meeting" and with the “Best Poster Award” on CICECO journeys. Currently, she is also a monitor of the curriculum units "Principles and Applications of Materials" and "Materials and Technologies" academic courses (BSc degree). Her research is focused on developing bio-based and biodegradable materials/composites using technologies compatible with plastic processing, such as melt-mixing, extrusion, injection moulding, and additive manufacturing techniques.
