Esther Chávez-Miranda, PhD on Management and Business Administration and Assistant
Professor at the University of Seville since 2000. Currently, she is Director of the
Diploma in Revenue Management in Hotels (Certificate from the University of Seville)
since the academic year 2015/2016, and previously of the title of Expert in Hotel
Management Revenue (2014/2015). The Diploma has the participation of 24 professors
including professionals from large hotel chains (Meliá Hotels International, NH Hotels,
Vincci Hotels, Starwood) and software companies, among others. She focuses her research
in Revenue Management. She presented her Theses (directed by PhD. Antonio Ruiz-Jiménez,
University of Seville) on this subject in 2005, which received the Extraordinary Doctoral
Award and whose content was included in the first book on the subject published in
Spain (Tourism Seville). She co-directs some doctoral theses focused on this topic.
She participates as a trainer in the area of Revenue Management in the Masters´ Degree
in Hotel Management (since 2008), Master's Degree in Tourism Management and Planning
(2008-), Master's Degree in Advanced Studies in Business Management (2009-) and Diploma
in Hospitality Revenue Management (2015-). And in other titles / courses by invitation
(ESIC, Cádiz University, Associazione Albergatori and Emprese Turistiche della Provincia
di Trento -Asociation of Hotels and Tourism Companies of the Province of Trento, Italy-,
Hotel Association of Seville). She has published numerous articles in scientific journals,
book chapters and contributions in both, prominent national and international congresses
with anonymous review. She has been a member of the Organizing Committee in congresses
and participated in competitive projects. She has been a reviewer of Cornell Hospitality
Quarterly and Tourism Management, the Journal of European Research in Business Management
and Economics, WPOM-Working Papers on Operations Management and the International
Journal of World of Tourism. It has promoted and formalized academic and research
collaboration agreements with companies such as Beonprice, IDeaS (Revenue Management
software), STR or other hotel companies.
