I Work in the area(s) of Materials Engineering and Technology with an emphasis on biomedical materials and devices. I'm interested in developing new sensors or actuators with alternative materials such as polysaccharides and the application of new techniques to create functional and smart composites that could be useful for biomedical applications. Currently working with chitosan-based bionanocomposites.

The Front Cover shows a flexible functional biocomposite film composed of chitosan biopolymer and BaTiO3 particles, which was prepared by environmentally benign methodologies. This film is flexible, and its elasticity can be tailored by the addition of BaTiO3 particles.
