Nuno Correia is the Director of the NOVA LINCS (Nova Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics) research unit and a
Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science of NOVA FCT since 2012. He got his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from IST,
Lisbon, Portugal. He was a researcher at Interval Research, Palo Alto, CA, and at INESC, Portugal. AT NOVA FCT he created
the Multimodal Systems group at NOVA LINCS and directed it until becoming NOVA LINCS Director. He was also the coordinator
of the PhD program in Computer Science until recently and is the NOVA FCT coordinator of the national PhD program in Digital
Media that he co-founded in 2008. This program was created in the scope of the UT Austin – Portugal partnership promoted by
the Portuguese government that Nuno Correia directed. From 2017 to 2021 he was a member of General Council of NOVA, the main
governing body of the university. Nuno Correia supervised 18 doctoral and more than 85 master's dissertations and he continues
to supervise students and training emerging researchers. Nuno Correia contributed to over 150 publications in journals, conferences,
and books. He has participated in EU-funded projects since the nineties and more recently in the H2020 project Cognitus
with the BBC, CEF projects Weave and CultureMoves, Erasmus +KA CRAFT and the Horizon Europe project T-Factor. Over the years
he evaluated grants and projects, in several programs. Nuno Correia is a member of the board of the NOVA Institute of Arts
and Technology and co-director at NOVA of the program aimed at digitizing Portuguese cultural heritage. It involves the digitization
of collections and virtual visits of 65 cultural equipments and it is the most extensive undertaking for cultural heritage
digitization in Portugal.
