S. Galante-Oliveira (Porto - Portugal, 1979) is now Contract Researcher at the University of Aveiro (UA) and member of the
Executive Committee of the Biology Department for R&I&D. With 15 years of research experience in the field of Marine Biology,
started her career after distinction by merit scholarship for an outstanding academic performance in 2002, and professional
training at the Marine Biological Association of the UK in 2003. Graduated in Biology by UA in 2004 and obtained the PhD in
Biology by UA 10 years ago, in Mar.2010. Was a research technician in the Laboratory of Cellular, Molecular and Analytical
Studies of CIIMAR (Associated Laboratory of the University of Porto, UP) in 2009 and 2010, and provided specialized services
in Biological Sciences (as self-employed PhD Biologist) from Nov.2010 until being able to fund Post-doctoral research. Started
a 1st Post-Doc in Apr.2011 and a 2nd in Sep.2016, both hosted at UA's Associated Laboratory CESAM (in collaboration with CIIMAR,
the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar of UP and the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology), period during
which has also lectured disciplines of Master courses of UA's Biology Department and performed internships at globally renowned
institutions: INSERM (French Institute of Health and Medical Research), SAMS (Scottish Association of Marine Science) and
HPL-UM (Horn Point Laboratory, University of Maryland, USA). Focused in the study of sclerochronological biomarkers for environmental
monitoring of marine and estuarine pollution and climate change, Post-Doc projects made her one of today’s few experts in
bivalves and gastropod statoliths’ morphostructure and sclerochemistry. Participated in 5 research projects: was project CliMaStat
PI (awarded by FCT & Portugal2020 framework), the group leader of project BIOREC (EU-FP7-RI Assemble) and member of one of
the research teams of UA providing scientific consultancy to the shellfish aquaculture sector in 2015/2016, totalling –between
funding raised to fund career (grants/contracts) and research (projects/services)– >0.5M€. Completed the supervision of 7
undergraduate and 8 postgraduate students (1 Post-doc), and the coordination of 4 research associates (63% in the last 5 years
of activity). Scientific output counts with co-authorship of 82 colleagues from 25 research units: 12 national, 13 in foreign
countries (Cabo Verde, Croatia, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and UK). Beyond
43 scientific communications (77% in international meetings; 9 oral, of which 5 by invitation, and 34 posters; 49% in the
last 5 years), published a total of 28 full articles in SCI-WOS journals (10 as lead author, 5 as senior author), 82% of which
Q1 on its subject category in the year of publication under the SJR rank, counting with 447 citations under Scopus metrics
