Alexandra Sofia Baptista Vicente Baeta works at University of Coimbra (UC) as an auxiliary researcher, developing her work at MARE - Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, in Coimbra (MARE-UC) and Figueira da Foz (MAREFOZ). She holds a PhD in Biology (2010; thesis title:'Food webs in intertidal ecosystems - A stable isotope approach and trophic network analysis'), specialization in Ecology, by UC and a PhD in "Enviromental Biology, of populations, ecology" by the University of La Rochelle (France, 2010), and post-docs at the UC (2011-2019). Alexandra Baeta has been the Responsible Researcher for the EA/IRMS (isotopic analyses of C and N) over the last 16 years, and in the last 9 years has also been the researcher in charge of the operation and maintenance of the EA/IRMS (MAREFOZ laboratory, UC). Her research has always been focused on the application of stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes to understand food web, biodiversity and functioning of estuarine, coastal and marine ecosystems. She has also experience in network analysis, complex systems ecology and ecological modelling. She has published 38 articles in specialized journals, and 1 book chapter(s) (Encyclopedia of Ecology). A Baeta Co-supervised 2 PhD and 5 master students, lectured in advanced post-graduation courses, courses on ecology, and she is also the responsible and trainer of the 'Module 10 - Sample Preparation for IRMS (EA/IRMS - Elemental Analyzer/Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry)', in the training action entitled 'MAREFOZ 1.1', MARE-UC, University of Coimbra. She received 2 merit awards. A Baeta has participated in 20 research projects (2 as fellow, 12 as researcher, and 6 as collaborator).
