I am a young and highly motivated PhD student at the NOVA University of Lisbon. The aim of my research is to investigate the complex interplay between population dynamics, climate variability, and cultural innovations during the transition to farming in the Western Asia during the 12,000–8,500 cal BP period (i.e., the Pre-Pottery Neolithic) through the utilisation of a computational approach. In 2017, I was awarded a prestigious European scholarship, which enabled me to pursue and complete my Master's Degree in Archaeological Materials Science (ArchMat) at La Sapienza University in March 2019. During the course of my studies at the master's level, I had the opportunity to gain expertise in the identification of plant micro- and macro-remains, including pollen, diatoms, and charcoal. This was achieved through the utilisation of sophisticated instrumentation, such as a light microscope, a stereomicroscope, and an Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM). This study permitted the reconstruction of the paleoenvironmental conditions and land use in the Tiber Valley (i.e., the Roman Villa at Spoletino, province of Viterbo, Italy) during the 1st century AD. Furthermore, undertaking my master's degree in a consortium of universities (namely, Évora University in Portugal, Thessaloniki University in Greece, and La Sapienza University in Italy) afforded me the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in an international setting, while simultaneously establishing a robust network for my prospective research career. From 2007 to 2021, I was employed at the National Museum of Damascus, which is affiliated with the Directorate-General of Antiquities & Museums (DGAM) of Syria. I was a principal contributor to the restoration of ancient cuneiform clay tablets. I participated in numerous archaeological missions at national and international levels in Syrian sites during my tenure at DGAM as a fieldwork restorer. Currently, I am engaged in commercial archaeology in Portugal (in the Algarve region) as a freelance archaeologist, which has enabled me to oversee fieldwork and publish several reports.
