Maria Inês Oliveira e Costa de Almeida Trindade

Inês Trindade is an Associate Senior Lecturer at the University of Örebro, Sweden. She is also affiliated to CINEICC, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Coimbra, in Portugal. She is a clinical psychologist and has expertise in behavioural medicine. She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology (2018), a MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology (2013), and a BSc in Psychological Sciences (2011) from the University of Coimbra. Inês was also a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Coimbra (2019-2021) and, later, at the Institute of Medicine of the University of Gothenburg (2021-2023). She has also been an Invited Assistant Professor of the Portuguese Institute for Psychology and Other Sciences (Inspsic), since 2019. Since 2012, Inês has done training and research in contextual behavioural science and behavioural medicine-related topics (in particular, psychogastroenterology and psycho-oncology). Her research interests relate to the factors that influence patient-reported outcomes in people with chronic medical conditions, and to the development and evaluation of face-to-face and digital contextual behavioural interventions in these populations. She has received several scientific awards and scholarships from international entities (e.g., Outstanding New Investigator from the International Society of Behavioral Medicine; Most Cited Paper Award in the journal “Inflammatory Bowel Diseases”). She has authored or co-authored 73 papers (31 as first author, and corresponding author in 40) in peer-reviewed international journals, that have resulted in over 1900 citations (g.scholar; h index: 27). Inês has attracted over 1 million euros (over 12 million SEK) in research funding as Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, or scholarship/fellowship recipient. She is currently the Principal Investigator of several research projects (mostly Randomized Controlled Trials) being conducted in both Sweden and Portugal. Inês is also an Associate Editor of the British Journal of Health Psychology and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal for Contextual Behavioral Science.
