I am a biologist with a BSc in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and an MSc in Conservation Biology from the University of Évora. My research focuses on movement ecology in the context of biodiversity conservation, with a particular emphasis on migratory birds. During my MSc dissertation, I used large datasets from the citizen science platform eBird to construct migratory networks and identify priority wetlands for migratory waterbirds. Through this work, I developed strong skills in spatial data processing and analysis, GIS, and R programming, while exploring the potential of network analysis applied to the planning of protected areas for migratory species conservation. I am currently a Research Technician at the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED), University of Évora, where I analyse spatiotemporal interaction patterns relevant to disease transmission using GPS tracking data from cattle and wild boars. In addition, I have considerable field experience, including scientific bird ringing and participation in monitoring campaigns across multiple faunal groups. My background combines quantitative analysis of ecological and spatial data with ecological interpretation and fieldwork, enabling an integrated approach to applied conservation challenges.
