Olena Okhay obtained her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in November 2009. She won several post-doc fellows in University of Aveiro, Portugal. Her main scientific interests during PhD degree were: i) processing and characterization of ferroelectric films and ceramics; ii) structure, microstructure, dielectric, piezoelectric, magnetic properties of ferroelectrics and related materials. Her post-doc activities focused on the materials for energy harvesting and storage such as thermoelectrics, piezoelectrics, as well as materials for solar cells and electrochemical capacitors (called as supercapacitors). Her current work concentrated on 1D-2D carbon-family materials, different composites, including metal oxides/hydroxide, polymers, etc. She obtained 1st prize in XXXIX Meeting of the Portuguese Society for Microscopy and Cell Biology (2004) and Young Scientist Award in European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) 2008 Spring Meeting. She participated in COST actions, FAME international networks, Graphene Flagship-events as well as in many summer/winter schools and workshops on different scientific thematic for the improving of her personal research potential. Her two short time project were supported byEuropean Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) as short time scientific missions (STSM) in Institute of Physics, Academy of Science of Czech Republic (2004 and 2007) and one STSM to Institute of Advanced Technologies for Energy Nicola Giordano (CNR - ITAE) of Messina, Italy (2019). Another two scientific visits to Tampere University, Finland (2019) and to Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania (2022) were awarded as Research Mobility Grant from The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU). In addition, she has collaborations with Forschungzentrum Jülich, Universität Duisburg-Essen, University of Mainz, University of Stuttgart (all in Germany) and with University of Warsaw (Poland). Also, she has many co-authors in Portugal from IFIMUP-IN-University of Porto and CMEMS-University of Minho as well as in University of Aveiro. Such collaborations result to published 38 papers and 3 book chapters. She is Reviewer in 17 International Journals. She participated in International conferences with posters (about 30) and oral presentations (3 invited/keynotes talks) as well as member of the organizing committee.
