Daria Trishkina Rosa Bizarro is a recent graduate of the Master’s programme in Trends in English and North American Studies at NOVA University of Lisbon. Her research focuses on the intersection of literature, trauma, and Gothic narrative, adopting an interdisciplinary approach that engages with Literary Studies, Trauma Theory, and perception studies. Her master’s dissertation, awarded a grade of 19/20, explores the relationship between trauma and American Gothic literature. She was awarded a competitive research initiation grant funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and conducted research at CETAPS, contributing to interdisciplinary projects and presenting her work in academic contexts. Her research interests include the study of collective trauma and its literary representation, particularly in contemporary American culture, as well as the evolution of Gothic narrative in periods marked by historical rupture, such as the post-Second World War and post-9/11 eras. In parallel, she works as a teacher of Portuguese as a Foreign Language.
