Laura Rama completed her degree in Biology (2021) and master's in Molecular and Cellular Biology (2023) at the University of Aveiro, where she is now pursuing her PhD on a competitive university grant. Her master's thesis on beta-blockers as adjuvant agents in melanoma treatment was formally recognized and featured in the Biology Department's newsletter. She is the first author of a peer-reviewed Q1 article on drug repurposing of beta-blockers and has presented her work at two international conferences. Laura has also collaborated on projects in the areas of nanoplastics toxicity, sustainable biomaterials, and chemical risk assessment, and was invited to speak at the Science Summit 2025 of the 80th United Nations General Assembly on emerging contaminants and environmental health.
