Andreia Torres-Pereira is a PhD student at the Biology department of University of Aveiro. Her host institution is Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) - University of Aveiro. She attends the PhD Programme, Biology and Ecology of Global Change (BEGC) with thesis on Harbour porpoise ecology. During her academic career she had the opportunity to improve her knowledge on marine ecology and conservation. She learn and became a proficient technician in cetacean census (including coastal, shipboard and airplane census). She also gained experience in cetacean post mortem analysis, which is the basis to perform adequate sampling and data collection to integrate the Marine Animal Tissue Bank at ECOMARE. Andreia T Pereira is a team member of the marine animal stranding network (Since 2012).
