Graduated and with a master's degree in Biochemistry by the Faculty of Sciences of University of Lisbon (FCUL) in 2010. Finished the PhD degree (2020) in Agrarian Sciences with a specialization in Food Technology from the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the University of the Azores, and working now as a Post-doctoral at the Biotechnology Centre of the Azores (CBA), develop research in tissue culture, sanitary improvement and genotyping of grapevines, but interested in the microbiome, bioactivity of metabolites in natural resources, for possible use in sustained agro-food ecosystems, with focus for a value-added product with health-promoting benefits. I made several courses and complementary training in different areas, such as bioinformatics, sequencing, food technology and microbiology and have a Sports Dance Coach certificate by Portuguese Sports Institute. I am a highly skilled and oriented professional with solid academic preparation, with several years of experience in the field of scientific research, university teacher and dance teacher. In my scientific career, I won 5 grants and participate as team member in 10 research projects (areas of genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, food technology and tissue cultures), supervised 3 master's theses, and teaching in several courses in UAc. I have actively engaged with other academics in my area to grow my network and connections, and have collaborated with several teams from Azores - CBA, Institute of Research and Technology of Agronomy and Environment (IITAA), Lisbon - TQB - Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology and Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, Ireland - Teagasc- Moorepark - Food Research Centre and APC Microbiome Institute and Hungary - NARIC Food Science Research Institute (Hungary). In my commitment to scientific research, participated in several conferences, seminaries and reunions, with 12 oral presentationsms, 13 posters and 8 conference abstract . Author of 8 scientific articles (H-index 6.0, Scopus), 4 in conference proceedings and 3 thesis. I also reviewed 1 article to the Archives of Microbiology and my work was awarded with the best oral presentation and one article as Editor’s Choice. With several years of experience in the field of scientific research, dance coach, voluntary and teacher, proven ability to assess and manage obstacles; team leadership, organizational and communication skills. I am a good listener and learner, persistent, hardworking, quick to learn and always seek to achieve a high standard in whatever work I undertake. I am well organised with a positive approach to problem solving, and search for new challenges, experiences and knowledge for the development of science. My research areas include molecular biology, food biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, probiotics, exopolysaccharides, tissue culture and plant genetics.
