Marta has a master degree in Biology and Geology Teacher Education for Middle and Secondary Schools by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and has a degree in Biology (pre-Bologna) from the same institution. She is a PhD student in Teaching and Dissemination of Sciences (expertise in Science Teaching) at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. She is also a researcher at CIIMAR, Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Porto, in the "Sustainability and Social and Educational Innovation" team. She has published some works in the field of Science Education.
