Marta Sofia Carvalho Teixeira Pinto (MTP; MSc Neurosciences, 2001; PhD.Human Biology, 2008) Joined IPATIMUP (www.ipatimup.pt) as an Investigator Ciência 2008 (2009) of the Cancer Genetics Group and was mainly dedicated to study cancer angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis, using chick embryo chorioallantoid membrane (CAM) model. After setting up the laboratory, and implementing several fundamental assays, MTP established the “In vivo CAM assays Scientific Platform” (2012), currently coordinated and managed by MTP (www.i3s.up.pt). The portfolio of available CAM assays now covers other fields of study besides cancer. In particular, the study of biomaterials, proteins and permeability assays. MTP published 36 papers in international peer reviewed journals, all in Q1 journals, with an H index of 16 (ResearcherID: J-2519-2013) and received 7 awards and/or honors.
