Gabriella Gilli completed a PhD in Physics in 2012 at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia- IA (Spain). Her research was devoted to the study the atmosphere of Venus and Mars, with a focus on their upper atmosphere (radiative processes and photochemistry). Her work included studies in a broad range of topics: from infrared emissions under non-Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium, to the analysis of a huge amount of satellite data-cubes (i.g. Venus Express ESA mission) and to the development of a retrieval code to measure CO and temperature in the upper atmosphere of Venus. After the PhD she was involved in the assessment phase of the ESA candidate mission ECho at IAPS (Italy). In 2014 she got a postDoc contract at the Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique-LMD (France), where she was mainly in charge of the extension of the Venus GCM (VGCM) up to the thermosphere of the planet (150 km). She gained teamwork skills by participating in the LMD group efforts to develop and improve both Venus and Mars GCM, and she led three papers as first author focused on some of those improvements [Gilli et al. 2017, Icarus, and Gilli et al. 2020, JGR, Gilli et al. 2021, Icarus]. Since October 2016 she is a researcher at Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA), in Portugal. In 2018 she was awarded a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, with the Project "Hot-TEA" (Hot Terrestrial Exo-planet Atmospheres: preparing new generation instrument observations with a global climate model), hosted by IA in Lisbon. She is member of the ARIEL/ESA Consortium Team and coordinator of the Science WG " Synergies with Solar System". She is also co-leader of the Portuguese National Funded FCT project "P-TUGA" (Planets - Towards Understanding their General circulation Atmospheres). She co-organized a workshop held in Lisbon in June 2019 (S-SAIL), and is co-chair of the conference "TOE3: Toward other Earths, from Solar System to Exoplanets" that will take place in Portugal in 2023. She is vice-chair and representative of Portugal in the Spain+Portugal Europlanet Regional Hub. Her current scientific interests are : 1) investigating the high variability observed in the middle/upper atmosphere of Venus and Mars combining model simulations and observations 2) studying the impact of specific physical processes (e.g. non-orographic gravity waves propagation), to the transport of heat and constituents at those upper layers of Venus and Mars atmospheres 3) simulations of extra-solar planet atmospheres, focusing on Venus-like planets with the aim of studying how the planet¿s atmosphere modify the observable and predict future observations with new generation upcoming instruments. She published 18 articles in peer reviewed journals (1 under review), 7 of them as first author, 2 sections of books, and more than 30 not-peer reviewed papers proceeding from international conferences.

2019 - Current Towards Other Earths III: from Solar System to Exoplanets 01-05 June 2020, Lamego, Portugal We aim to discuss how the detailed and in situ datasets from Solar System planets can inform the often under constrained exoplanetary models. We will try to uncover how the diversity and large sample offered by exoplanets can put in context and inform our understanding of Solar System planets, focusing on each of these categories: 1. Super-Earths, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Earth 2. Ice giants, Uranus I am participating in the SOC (co-chair) and in LOC (2020/06/01 - 2020/06/05)
