Márcia Esteves is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Minho and a member of the ALGORITMI Research Center, in Braga, Portugal. Since January 2020, she is a Researcher at the University of Minho and Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal. In 2019, she concluded her MSc in Biomedical Engineering in the field of Medical Informatics with a final grade of 18, and in 2018, she received an Excellence Scholarship at the University of Minho. From May 2019 until December 2019, she interned at KOFORI in which she was involved with the design and development of interoperable medical informatics products, namely of web and mobile applications, for Portuguese healthcare institutions in order to solve problems existing in these environments. Additionally, from February 2017 until June 2017, she did a volunteer internship at 3B’s Research Group where she accompanied activities of several MSc and Ph.D. students, spanning from biomaterials development and characterization to biological methods. Besides her academic and professional paths, she also volunteered in some organizations in Braga, Portugal, namely ABRA and Refood 100% Braga. At the moment, she has written a total of 4 scientific publications available in her ORCID account. Her areas of expertise are in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics, namely in Knowledge Extraction, Mobile and Web Development, Interoperability, Databases, Business Intelligence, openEHR, Mobile Health, Health Information Systems, Health Information and Communication Technology.
