Maria De Maria is an actress, director, theater researcher and theater teacher. She also works in the area of cultural management and production. Graduated in Performing Arts, full degree (1999-2003) and Master from the Postgraduate Program in Arts (2010-2011), both from the Federal University of Uberlândia - UFU / MG and PhD from the Postgraduate Program in Arts at the University São Paulo State Júlio de Mesquita Filho UNESP / SP (2016-2020). Post-Doctoral Internships in Gender and Performance with the research The papers glued in Feminist Crossings: the memories of a theatrical, poetic and political body (2021-2022 and 2022-2023), Cultural Studies, Department of Languages and Cultures, University of Aveiro - Portugal. As an artist / teacher / researcher she was a professor in Higher Education, at UFU, for 6 years interspersed in the areas of Improvisation / Theatrical Interpretation and Theater Pedagogies; For 20 years she has also regularly taught free theater workshops, courses and classes in NGOs, schools and public or private institutions. She was part of the organization of important cultural events and festivals such as the Uberlândia National Theater Exhibition Sesc/ATU (2005-2008), the Latin American Theater Festival - Ruínas Circulares (2009), at the Rio+20 Cúpula dos Povos, RJ (2012) and in municipal, state and national cultural incentive bills (2002-2024). She performed children's productions through the Myriam Muniz Theater Awards (2007 and 2008) and the Cena Minas Award (2012 and 2015); She participated in the SESI Children's Theater Exhibition (2009) and the SESC Palco Giratório Circuit (2013), performing in 23 brazilian states. In 2019 she was on organizing team of the Independent Circuit of the Theater of Uberlândia, CITU. With 23 years of artistic career, she has performed in more than 25 theatrical plays of different genres, having received 5 awards in the best actress, supporting and stimulus categories and 8 nominations throughout her career. She participated in the feature film Valentina, a Campo Cerrado production (2020), an LGBTQIA + themed film awarded at festivals in more than 12 countries showing on NETFLIX. As a researcher, she is currently interested in gender studies in the performance scene, the actress's pedagogy, creation and composition process based on Viewpoints, roles in Brazilian circus-theater and melodrama in dialogue with contemporary acting trends combined with transmission of knowledge and practices. Coordinated the Mulheres em Foco project, encouraged by the Uberlândia Municipal Culture Program (2020/2021 proponent), which had as its axis the role of women in Art, with an online exhibition of the plays: Flores Arrancadas à Névoa (actress) and Mulher de Juan (actress) and Sobre ratos, maridos e pulgas (producer) and the exhibition of scenic-audiovisual experiments produced by different women artists from the city. In Portugal she completed 4 modules of the Feminist Free Theater Course as part of her post-doctoral research and performed with the performance Travessias Feministas in Aveiro and Porto (2021-2023). She worked on the project Aqui há Cinema in scholls in Porto and on the Organization team of the Porto Femme International Film Festival 4,5 and 6 th., Porto-PT (2021-2023). She taught the Artistic Residency OUTRAS: Cartas de Longe which resulted in the Performance Theater, with immigrant women, supported by DGARTES-Diretório Geral de Artes da República Portuguesa. Currently, she coordinates the publication of feminist texts by Coletivo Feminismos Sobre Rodas - Um Guia, supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. Back in Brazil, she directed the play Eu, Mulher? em Anápolis (2023) and participated in the artistic residency Corpo-Levante performance in celebration and resistance to the 40th anniversary of the Ferro’s Bar in São Paulo, promoted by the Museum of Diversity and SESC; She is currently a substitute teacher of Theater in High School and in the Dance Degree at IFG - GO.
