Ana Margarida Oliveira holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Biology from the School of Sciences of the University of Minho and a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from the School of Medicine of the same institution, awarded with a final grade of 19/20. Her Master’s research, conducted at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), focused on the use of fluorescent agents for retrograde labeling of pelvic nerves in rat models, enabling real-time nerve visualization in a surgical context. She has demonstrated consistent engagement with the scientific community through active participation in research dissemination and science communication initiatives. Notably, she presented her research findings at the ICVS Retreats in 2024 and 2025 (poster sessions), reinforcing her ability to communicate scientific results within academic environments. In addition, she has been actively involved in outreach and public engagement activities, including the European Researchers’ Night 2025, Alto Minho Science Fest 2026, Open Day (“Universidade Portas Abertas”) 2026, and the Master’s Fair “Unlimited Future” 2026, contributing to the promotion of scientific literacy and strengthening the connection between biomedical research and society. She holds a FELASA certification for Functions A, B, C, and D, including additional modules 20 and 23 (mice and rat species), demonstrating solid training in laboratory animal science. She has further complemented her training with specialized webinars in animal welfare, reflecting a strong commitment to ethical and responsible research practices.
