Catarina Malheiro is a researcher at the CESAM & Department of Biology from the University of Aveiro. Catarina holds a degree in Biology (2014), a MSc in Toxicology and Ecotoxicology (2016) and a PhD in Biology and Ecology of Global changes, with specialization in Ecology and Functional Biodiversity (2024). Catarina has participated as a researcher in several national and international projects (GLOBALTOX, METOXCLIM, MICROCLIM, ECOCENE and ENTOSAFE). Catarina has published 14 ISI-indexed publications and one book chapter. Catarina has presented more than 40 scientific communications to specialized audiences at national and international conferences. Catarina has been an active member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) since 2017. Catarina has received 3 awards as a reflection of the scientific quality, innovation, and impact of her contributions to the scientific community. Catarina has conducted practical classes for BSc students and mentored a BSc student, guiding their academic and research development. These experiences have confirmed her motivation to inspire and empower the next generation of researchers while sharing her expertise to support the growth of research teams.
