Maria João Caspurro Vilela graduated in Bioengineering, with specialization in Molecular Biotechnology, from the University of Porto in May 2020. Within the scope of her Master's thesis, she spent two years in research for the COLHYBRID project, which was the result of a partnership between the "Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde" (I3s) and the "Artur Salgado S.A." company. There, she was responsible for the scale up, production and characterization of a biomaterial for bone regeneration. Her work culminated in the publishing of an article as first author in Materials journal. In November 2020, Maria João started working at Unilabs as a Laboratory Technician, where she performed Molecular Analysis to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. In February 2021, she joined Blueclinical as a clinical trials Laboratory Technician. At the same time, and to deepen her knowledge on clinical trials, Maria João enrolled on a Clinical Investigator Course promoted by UNAVE. Since 2021, Maria João is pursuing her professional career in the Antibody Discovery field at FairJourney Biologics. During the recent years, Maria João has taken part in different specialization courses, such as "Monitoring and Research in Clinical Trials" by PharAcademy, and several French language courses.
