Lianshe Fu received his Ph.D. in Inorg. Chem. (lanthanide (Ln) based organic-inorganic hybrids (OIHs)) in Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (1999). After that, he worked as a post-doctor in Inorg. Mater. Lab., Université Clermont Auvergne (France) to study luminescence of Ln-based hybrids and as an associate researcher in City University of Hong Kong to study hydrothermal synthesis of luminescent nanomaterials. After being awarded a post-doctoral grant (FCT, 2002), he came to Phantom-G (University of Aveiro) to continue his career on synthesis of luminescent OIHs under the supervision of Professor Luís Carlos. Besides affiliated to Physics Department, he is also affiliated to Chemistry Department and CICECO. To start the work, he installed all the experimental setups for vacuum system and hydrothermal synthesis, which provides essential conditions for him to design and synthesize luminescent OIHs used in Phantom-G for photovoltaics (luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) and luminescent downshifting layers) and optoelectronics (light emitting diodes (LEDs) and integrated optics), which plays an indispensable role in the group research. To further pursue his career in material design, synthesis, characterization and device fabrication, he was succeeded in Ciência 2007 (FCT) and followed in Investigador FCT (2013) working on OIHs for waveguide applications. Now as a full-time researcher, he is working in Phantom-G on the synthesis, structural characterizations of sustainable and efficient luminescent CDs and their applications in LSCs and sensing devices. Over more than 20 years, he gathered broad expertise in synthesis of OIHs for optoelectronic applications using various strategies spanning from soft-chemistry methods, hydrothermal synthesis to nanoparticle preparation. In addition, the training course on Gaussian (Ulm, Germany, 2014) gave him more ability on computational chemistry. His remarkable achievements can be highlighted as follows: i) As (corresponding) author/co-author, he has more than 190 SCI papers in prestigious journals with high IF such as Adv. Sci., npj Flexible Electronics, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, Adv. Sustainable Syst., Inorg. Chem. and Adv. Opt. Mater., more than 10 conference papers and poster presentations, and several oral presentations. The total number of citations is more than 6000 and an h-index of 41. ii) Currently, he is the main participants in projects GrassLight (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-047096) to synthesize sustainable luminescent materials for artificial turf and LogicALL (PTDC/CTM-CTM/0340/2021) to prepare upconversion nanoparticles. Previously, as PI, he coordinated FCT project: Preparation and photoluminescence features of white-emitting single-phased phosphors for light-emitting diodes (PTDC/CTM/108975/2008) and two projects in China. He also participated in many projects involved LSCs, WLEDs and waveguide in UA. iii) Presently, he is responsible and supervising the synthesis of luminescent materials for Phantom-G (UA). During 2016-2021, as co-supervisor, he supervised one Ph.D. student (Ming Fang) on Ln OIHs for solid-state lighting. Previously, He also successfully supervised four post-doctoral fellows (FCT scholarships) in CICECO. Before as a teacher in China, he also lectured Chemistry Experiments course, and as co-supervisor, supervised three Ph.D. students. iv) He established a wide national and international network, among others through research collaborations such as Joint Research between China and Portugal (Approved in 2019), which is reflected in his many publications with international authors. v) He has maintained active scientific editorial duties, being a regular reviewer for more than 20 international journals. Currently, he is Guest Editor for three Special Issues and before for two Special Issues in MDPI.
