Veronica Corcodel is an Assistant Professor in European and International Law at NOVA School of Law since February 2021, where she also directs the NOVA Refugee and Migration Clinic (https://novarefugeelegalclinic.novalaw.unl.pt/) and co-coordinates the Master on ‘International and European Law’. She is currently a member of the Multiversity project, funded by EEA grants, which seeks to introduce an intersectional perspective on equality in the Portuguese legal framework on discrimination. Prior to joining NOVA School of Law, Veronica was an Assistant Professor in European Law at Dublin City University and a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute. She was also a postdoctoral researcher at Sciences Po Law School, where she co-coordinated a project on ‘Forms of Life and Legal Integration in Europe’ directed by Loic Azoulai and pursued research on migrant forms of life and EU law. Veronica holds a PhD from Sciences Po Law School on ‘The Dynamics of Inclusion and Exclusion in Comparative Legal Thought’, where she explored the representations of non-European societies in European comparative legal scholarship (2015). During her PhD, she was a Visiting Scholar at Cornell Law School and the University of Turin. As a doctor, she was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Piemonte Orientale. Her areas of interest include EU migration and asylum law, EU law, international and European human rights law, critical theory, socio-legal studies, and comparative law.
