Larissa Latif is a Professor at the School of Theater and Dance of UFPA and at the Graduate Program in Arts (PPGARTES) of UFPA. She holds a PhD in Performing Arts from the Federal University of Bahia (2005) - CAPES Scholarship and CAPES Doctoral Internship Abroad (University of Paris 10- Nanterre); a master's degree in Development Planning from NAEA -UFPA (1998), with a dissertation on arts education at Fundação Curro Velho - CAPES Scholarship; and a bachelor's degree in Social Communication from the Federal University of Pará (1994). She is a trained actress from ETDUFPA (1999), playwright, director, and costume designer, working since 1996. She is a member of the Center for Languages, Literatures, and Cultures of the University of Aveiro, where she works in the Gender and Performance Group (GECE). In 2005, she defended her doctoral thesis on the spectacularity and performance on the rope of the pilgrims of the Círio de Nazaré in Belém do Pará, receiving the Honorable Mention of the Mário de Andrade Prize, awarded by IPHAN in 2008. Between 2009 and 2016, she lived in Portugal, where she conducted a postdoctoral internship in Cultural Studies at the University of Aveiro, initially with a FIDESA scholarship (2009-2010) and then with funding from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) (2011-2016). During her stay in Portugal, she was part of the research team of the Urban Regeneration Project of the Historic Center of Ílhavo: A Peculiar Historic Center, financed with funds from QREN (National Strategic Reference Framework (2010-2014), carried out by the University of Aveiro. In this project, she worked on memory, imagery, and performance with the target population of the research. Still in Portugal, she co-supervised two doctoral theses, one on collaborative devices in theatrical creation, in the Doctoral Program in Cultural Studies at the Universities of Aveiro and Minho, and another on pedagogy through performance, in the Doctoral Program in Music at the University of Aveiro. Concurrently, starting in 2015, she began an ongoing research on the interfaces between Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, and Theatrical Creation, which has led to a series of scientific publications and theatrical performances in which a personal dramaturgy proposes an intense dialogue with issues of gender normativity and the possibilities of creating deviations and lines of flight in the scope of artistic creation, dialoguing with contemporary theories of the cyborg body and post-humanities. Back in Brazil, between 2017 and 2019, she taught in the Theater Degree and in the Technical Course in Actor of ETDUFPA and in PARFOR- Theater of UFPA, teaching a wide range of disciplines and co-supervising three course completion works, all focused on the relations between gender issues and contemporary scene. Between 2018 and 2019, she conducted a postdoctoral internship in the Graduate Program in Communication, Languages, and Culture of UNAMA, teaching three disciplines and a mini-course for master's and doctoral students, as well as conducting research on drag language in the city of Belém. She also taught, as a guest professor, disciplines on culture and heritage and cultural identity at NAEA-UFPA and at the University of Aveiro. She has collaborated on various research and extension projects in the performing arts at universities such as UFPA, the University of Aveiro, and the University of Paris 8 - Vincennes-Saint-Dennis. During her work at GECE at the University of Aveiro, she has been accumulating experience in organizing international scientific and artistic events, team coordination, and international publications. Part of this work has been carried out since 2020 in the National and International Networks in Cultural Studies. She is a founding member of the Drama Rasgado Theater Group and coordinates the experimental artistic space Pérola da Campina, in Belém do Pará.
