Matheus Koengkan holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Évora (2020) and is currently a researcher at the University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research (UCILeR), specializing in Applied Economics, Energy Economics, and Environmental Economics. He has published extensively in internationally indexed journals (WoS/Scopus) and is the author of key works such as Globalisation and Energy Transition in Latin America and the Caribbean and Obesity Epidemic and the Environment: Latin America and the Caribbean Region. Recognized in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list in 2022 and 2023, his research focuses on energy transition, sustainable development, and gender inequality.
