Bruno Gonçalves is currently working as postdoctoral researcher at Research Institute for Medicines (iMed.ULisboa) Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon, in the Natural Products Chemistry Group. Bruno Gonçalves is a pharmacist (MSc, University of Coimbra, 2010) and holds a PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the specialty of Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the same University in 2016. His research has been developed in the field of organic and pharmaceutical chemistry, namely in compound design, synthesis, and bioactivity testing, with emphasis on exploring the pharmacological properties of bioactive natural products, namely triterpenes, diterpenes and alkaloids. His research interests also include the identification of molecular targets of terpenoid compounds and the mechanism of action of the multidrug resistance associated ABC protein transporters. Bruno has established as main mission the development of new molecules that could add real value to the development of new anticancer treatments, with focus in cancers with drug resistance.
