Diogo Nunes Cardoso is an Assistant Researcher (CEEC Junior) from CESAM & Department of Biology, University of Aveiro. He has a degree in Biology, a master's in applied Biology and a PhD in Biology, Ecology and Global changes (2018). After his PhD, he was contracted by the FCT project ECOCENE - Ecological Effects of Nanopesticides to Soil Ecosystems. Later, he was awarded a contract in the 2nd CEEC call, in the Junior category: CEECIND/01190/2018, and he is now an Assistant Researcher at the University of Aveiro. Currently, he is the PI of ENTOSAFE - Edible insects: From a sustainable food production to a food safety concern. He is also a researcher in the Agenda Mobilizadora InsectERA consortium. (Co) author of 31 ISI papers and one book chapter, is an active member of the SETAC Europe, Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), with more than 60 communications between poster and oral presentations. His multidisciplinarity is evidenced in his research interests, going from water to soil Ecotoxicology, evaluation of nano pesticides in the terrestrial environment, evaluation of contaminants under a climate change scenario, and more recently, the safety and sustainability in the use of insects as a novel food source. He is now doing research on using insects as a tool for circularity. He supervised degree, master and PhD students and is currently involved in numerous supervisions. He participated and several national and international projects that originated several ISI papers and national and international communications.

2020/09/01 - Atual To learn concepts of ecophysiology; develop the capacity to formulate hypotheses in the scientific method to answer questions related to animal physiology in response to changes in abiotic factors. Physiological adaptations and evolutionary extinctions are issues to be addressed. In the practical lectures, exploring scientific hypotheses, developing and elaborating on experiences, and treatment of data is an object of learning.
