Ecologist and conservation biologist with a strong background in Mediterranean ecosystems, wildlife monitoring, and trophic ecology. My work focus on species interactions and ecological processes that sustain biodiversity and ecosystem services. My research initially focused on the feeding ecology of a threatened species during my master’s thesis, combining fieldwork and analytical approaches such as stable isotope analysis, pellet analysis, and video-based behavioural observation to understand trophic dynamics across life stages and between sexes in the European Roller (Coracias garrulus). Since 2018, I have been collaborating with the Department of Biology and the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED) of the University of Évora on biodiversity monitoring programs across Mediterranean habitats, including maquis shrublands, agro-silvo-pastoral systems, and coastal dune ecosystems. My work spans multiple taxa, from mammals and herpetofauna to butterflies and other pollinators, providing integrative perspectives on community responses to environmental degradation and conservation status across sites. Beyond research, I am passionate about science communication and public engagement. I develop visual and interactive tools: such as posters, educational materials, field demonstrations, and citizen-science events, like BioBlitzes, to translate ecological knowledge into accessible and engaging experiences that strengthen the connection between science and society.
