Filomena Carnide holds a PhD in Human Kinetics, specialization in Ergonomics, from the Faculty of Human Kinetics of the Technical University of Lisbon (2003). She has been an integrated researcher in the Neuromechanics group of the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Human Performance (CIPER-FMH) since 2007, and has developed a solid scientific career in the fields of biomechanics, ergonomics, active ageing, falls prevention and occupational health, with a strong interdisciplinary and translational orientation. She has acted as principal investigator in projects funded by national agencies (FCT and IPDJ) and European programmes (EIT Health and EIT Urban Mobility), and as institutional lead of the Faculty of Human Kinetics in several competitive national and international initiatives, including the FCT–Carnegie Mellon University programme, Horizon 2020, EIT Cross-KICs, EIT Health and Erasmus+ programmes. Her scientific output includes 49 articles published in indexed international journals, the majority in Q1 and Q2, as well as the co-authorship of books and book chapters and the editing of a scientific book, and she has received several awards recognizing the quality of her research and innovation activities. Her teaching and supervision experience includes the supervision of PhD and MSc theses, research fellows, clinical internships and internships in industrial and governmental organizations. In parallel, she has held several academic leadership and management positions at both faculty and university levels, including Vice-President of the Faculty of Human Kinetics, President of the Pedagogical Council within the same institution, member of ethics and scientific boards, and member of the General Council of the University of Lisbon.
